The death occurred peacefully at his home on Friday, February 24, of Mr. Michael Dennis Turner (Mike) Lort. He was aged 86 years.

Mike was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, but is survived by son Tim, daughter and son-in-law Pippa and Gaetan, daughter Bridget, grandchildren Will, Henry, Sophie, George and Luke, sister Haulwen and sister-in-law Una.

The funeral service takes place on Thursday, March 9, at St. Florence Church, at 2 pm, and will be followed by interment at Gumfreston Churchyard.

TENBY

As previously reported the death occurred suddenly, but peacefully at home, on Sunday, February 5, of Mr. W. Edwin Davies.

Edwin was born in Narberth in August 1939 to Tom and Muriel Davies.

Sadly Edwin’s father died when Edwin was very young, so he spent his early years with his aunt and uncle, Flo and Ron Beer.

Edwin’s life was devoted to his family and his home. Edwin married Pat in 1964, and their daughter Melanie followed in 1967.

They purchased St. Oswald’s Hotel in Picton Terrace, Tenby, which they ran for almost 30 years; working together to build a successful business, many visitors became friends, returning for many years.

After retiring from the hotel, Edwin continued to enjoy making extensive alterations to their home, moving a few times, but eventually enjoying watching the extension built at Melanie and Chris’s home, so that they could finally move there.

His funeral took place on Thursday, February 16, at St. Mary’s Church, Tenby, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth.

The service at St. Mary’s was conducted by the Rev. Canon Andrew Grace, assisted by Rev. Joel Barber.

Readings were given by Miss Jean Williams (friend), Bethan Rogers and Owen Rogers (grandchildren). The eulogy was given by Chris Rogers (son-in-law).

Bearers at both the church and the crematorium were Chris Rogers (son-in-law), Owen Rogers (grandson), Michael Keohane, John Keohane, Richard Fanus (cousins) and Richard Evans (friend).

Family left to mourn are Pat (wife), Melanie and Chris (daughter and son-in-law), Bethan and Owen (grandchildren), Margaret and Mac (sister and brother-in-law), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Floral tributes were received from Pat, Melanie, Chris, Bethan and Owen, Margaret, Mac, Chris, Hayley and Billy, Mervyn, Paul, Mair and Daniel, Mike, Betty and Conner, Julie Ciaran and Lillie, John, Trevayne and Hannah, Patrick and Marion, Gerald and Diana.

MR. J. W. BROWN

REDBERTH

As reported previously, the death occurred peacefully at home on Saturday, January 28, of Mr. John William Brown, aged 60 years, of Redberth.

A native of Newcastle Upon Tyne, during his working life, John was an agricultural contractor, worked for Rees Brothers in St. Florence, whilst at the same time establishing himself as a sheep farmer,

His main interests were breeding Oxford Down Sheep to establish the Monkstone Flock and attending shows across Wales and England, where the flock achieved reputable successes.

As well as his wife Margery, family left to mourn are sons Henry and James; daughter Miriam; granddaughters Ella and Izzy; daughter-in-law Amanda; mother and father Grace and Ken, sisters and brothers-in-laws Christine and Martin, Gillian and Charlie; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Margaret and Alf; nieces and nephews Ben, Beth, Edwin, Hannah, William, Catherine, Emily, Charles, Lucy and Ben; sheepdogs Moss and Seren.

The funeral took place on February 4, when a service at St. Brides RC Church, Saundersfoot, was followed by interment at Tenby New Cemetery and refreshments at The Parsonage, St. Florence.

Officiating at the service was Father Owen McGreal, while bearers were Henry, James, Edwin, William, Ben and Batty.

As reported previously, the death occurred suddenly at home on Tuesday, January 31, of Mr. Gareth Allan Rossiter, aged 62 years, of Oakfield Drive, Kilgetty.

A native of East Williamston, he started his working life as an apprentice mechanic with Dick Davies, Broadmoor. A short spell followed driving lorries with Garfield Watkins, before starting his own business transporting caravans, then driving for Nolan.

His main interest was autograss racing and when he retired, he liked to travel around the UK to various events.

Family left to mourn are four brothers, Ian, Elwyn, Robert and Kelvin Rossiter, numerous nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces and aunt.

The funeral took place on Friday, February 17, at Ebenezer Baptist Chapel, Cold Inn.

Officiating at the service was the Rev. Hywel Brown, while bearers were Dean Rossiter (nephew), Nicky Rossiter (nephew), David Badham, Leighton Harris, Dilwyn Davies and Matthew Morgan.
