On Friday evening, July 30, the Evergreen Nomads and Tenby and District LVA made a joint presentation to young Mia Phillips, of Templeton. The chairman of the Nomads, namely Dave Skyrme, and the chairman of the LVA, Damian Brown, presented the cheque to Mia's parents, Chris and Merrilee Phillips. Mia, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, is only 14 months old, but despite her complaint she is a bright and cheerful little girl. The money donated is to be used to purchase a full-size trampoline, so that one of Mia's parents can accompany her on the apparatus. Mia's parents told the Nomads that trampoline exercise was a beneficial therapy. Mia and her family are wished all the very best. Also that evening, the LVA chairman presented a cheque to the Air Ambulance Wales, which is a wonderful and worthy service to the whole community. The cheque was accepted on behalf of the Air Ambulance by Dorian James. To round off the evening, the chairman of the LVA presented another cheque to the Tenby Arts Festival. This was accepted by Chris Sierwald, festival treasurer, who was accompanied by Elly Dorman. Chris and Elly said that the festival, featuring something for everyone in its programme of events, would this year be held from September 18 to 25. The Nomads and the LVA wish the Arts Festival every success. Last Wednesday (carnival day), the Evergreen Nomads made a presentation to Tenby Fire Station. Dave Thomas, Nomads treasurer, made the presentation to chairman of the fire brigade's benevolent fund, Kristian Steele, and wished Tenby Fire Station every success on their carnival day.
