The Friends of Narberth Library discussed the subject of training at the Trustees meeting last week. All volunteers must undergo basic training to work in the Library. A great deal can be learned while actually being in the library and following one of the volunteers, but the training sessions organised by Pembrokeshire County Council are essential for helping to run the library efficiently.

Thankfully, FONL do not require a great deal of funding to keep Narberth Library open, but the training sessions are one aspect that must be paid for. Donations for such eventualities have been gratefully received from local community councils, businesses and members of the public, all of whom realise the importance of the library to the whole of the surrounding area. Any amount, however small, would therefore be gratefully received, especially as all the local councils are reaching the time when they consider their finances.
