The annual Cub Scout football competition took place at Golden Grove School in Pembroke recently.
David Webb was delighted to be awarded a trophy for being the top scorer in the competition, scoring 12 goals in all. Other cubs in the team were Sam Baxter (captain), Kirk Lester, Jack Waring, Sam Butler and Mathew May.
Thanks to Dave Butler for being team manager and to those parents who went along to support the cubs.
The cubs are currently working on their outdoor challenge award, and during a recent activity on the beach they helped to light a fire and cooked sausages on sticks followed by toasted marshmallows. The fact that a couple of sausages slipped off their sticks and some had marshmallow flavoured sausages did not seem to matter!
The pack, in high spirits, also recently dressed as cowboys and indians, and descended on the Folly Woods where they built shelters, laid and followed a trail of tracking signs and rose to the challenge of making a paper cup out of a sheet of paper (no cup - no pop!).
They then ate their 'well done' barbecued sausages and returned home by torchlight, following a trail of Milky Bar Kid chocolate bars tied to trees along the way.
Thanks to Neil Webb and Gary Lester who came along to assist leaders, they can now show off their new found skills at making paper cups!
On Saturday, the group held a Jumble Sale in the Scout and Guide Hall, proceeds of which will go towards a trip to Swansea to see the pantomime 'Cinderella'.
