Whitland Town Council is delighted to say that there is now a defibrillator available in Whitland town centre 24/7. This was provided by the council, with the help of a generous donation from Whitland Male Voice Choir.

It is on the external wall of the RedKite building on the main street.

“We are all hearing an increasing amount about defibrillators, and they can literally be the vital first step taken when someone suffers cardiac arrest,” said acting Mayor, Clr. Barry Chapman. “Using a defibrillator quickly while waiting for the ambulance to arrive can double someone’s chances of surviving. This is why the council wished to have one available at all times - there are several others around in the town centre, but they are only available during normal opening hours.”

Clr. Chapman is pictured next to the defibrillator with another town councillor, Clr. Richard Davies, who is also a member of Whitland Male Voice Choir.
