The new Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Julie Evans, performed her first official engagement on Saturday by greeting over 180 charity cyclists in the town's Tudor Square.
The group included former rugby international Colin Charvis, who had taken part in the annual Cardiff to Tenby (CarTen 100) charity cycle ride raising money for Ty Hafan Children's Hospice.
The Mayor is also supporting Ty Hafan as her chosen charity for 2010/11.
The ride also included many members of Tenby Aces Cycle Club.
Clr. Evans said: "This has become a fantastic annual event, which started with just a handful of cyclists in 2004 and has grown in popularity year on year. This year's event brought over 180 cyclists and their families to Tenby. Since its inception, CarTen has raised over £27,000 for charity, a staggering amount. This year alone it is believed to be over £6,500. I would like to congratulate all the cyclists who completed the ride.
