The numbers for the weekly Steps2Health Walk swelled to the 30 mark on Saturday as many new faces turned up at Saundersfoot Harbour, the starting point for the walk to Wiseman's Bridge and back (writes B.S.). Being a level route along the Strand, through the tunnels and along the cliff path, some wheelchair users were able to enjoy accompanying the walkers, who were led by trained volunteer walk leader, Paul Morris. Val Coates brought up the rear to keep an eye on the tail-enders. The more able-bodied chose the higher cliff path and enjoyed the challenge of the, in parts, very steep woodland path. A slightly longer walk than usual ended back in Saundersfoot with that very welcome cup of coffee. Tomorrow (Saturday) it is back to the normal meeting place outside Somerfield for a 10.30 am start. All welcome! As a postscript to the 'wartime' walk the previous week when the walkers were shown Tenby's remaining air-raid shelter, a resident of Augustus Place has told me that there is another air-raid shelter! It is the brick building now covered with ivy at the back of the fire station. Apparently, it was going to be demolished some years ago, but was saved from this fate when the residents protested.
