The vista of Monk's Rock, Tenby, used on this dish is based on S. Middiman's engraving published in January 1813.
Although part of a series of eight that have different central designs depicting select views in Great Britain, the pattern is commonly referred to as the 'Monk's Rock Series' due to the distinctive and delightful view of Tenby on this plate.
The plate was donated to the museum in a presentation box with a copy of the engraving and the book 'An Illustrated Guide to Minton Printed Pottery 1796 - 1836'.
Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is currently displaying this plate in the permanent Art Gallery, and welcomes visitors to see a charming piece of art and history.
