People in Tenby town are being invited to their first Neighbourhood Policing Forum. PC Trish Dixon has been appointed as the neighbourhood policing officer for the area, which also includes Penally and St. Mary Out Liberty and she will be joined by PCSO Idwal David at the end of May. PC Dixon joined Dyfed Powys Police in 2003. She said: "I hope this new role will allow me to reach the real concerns facing the people of Tenby. I want to be able to speak directly to members of the public to discuss fears and concerns they may have and to break down any barriers." PCSO David was one of the first PCSOs in the force. He has previously worked in Llanelli and Haverfordwest. He attended Greenhill School before taking up a career in the Royal Navy. He said: "It will be a great challenge to be able to work together with the local community and other organisations to try and resolve these issues and hopefully make it a far happier place to be." The first forum is taking place on May 2 at Augustus Place Community Centre from 7-9 pm and is one of the places where the priorities of the neighbourhood team is set for the next month. Chief Inspector Allan Eldred said: "The essence of neighbourhood policing is about dealing with the issues which affect the community they serve. This could be anything from anti-social behaviour to speeding. "It is really important that the community tell us what the problems are so we can help them solve them. "Anyone with any concerns should come along to the forum on May 2; it will be an opportunity for them to meet their local neighbourhood policing officer and find out about the difference neighbourhood policing can make." Anyone wanting to contact the Tenby Neighbourhood Policing Team can do so on 0845 330 2000.
