South Pembrokeshire MP Henry Tufnell recently visited Tenby to learn about the Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust's initiatives, including the beach wheelchair scheme and the Get Outdoors Partnership Programme, aimed at enhancing accessibility to the region's coast and countryside.

A spokesperson for the Trust shared: “It was a pleasure to welcome Henry Tufnell MP recently to learn more about the work of the Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust and some of the projects helping people connect with Pembrokeshire's incredible coast and countryside.

“Of course, one of the first things we wanted to show Henry was the beach wheelchair scheme, so we headed to North Beach in Tenby to demonstrate how the booking system works and to see them in action. We couldn't have picked a more beautiful day!

“We also had the opportunity to talk about the new Get Outdoors Partnership Programme, which has been developed to help support the long term sustainability of the beach wheelchair scheme and other initiatives that make it easier for people to access and enjoy the outdoors.

“Alongside this, we highlighted some of our wider education and wellbeing work, including the First 1,000 Days Project, that helps young families connect with nature and outdoor play during the crucial first three years of a child's life, supporting the wellbeing of both children and their families.

“It was encouraging to have the opportunity to share the impact of these projects and discuss the importance of supporting their future development.

“Thank you, Henry and your team, for taking the time to visit and hear more about our work,” they added.
