On Sunday, Rector, Rev. Canon Andrew Davies, was delighted to receive a generous donation from St. Mary's Mothers' Union in order to support the soon to be installed, state of the art, multi media equipment in Church House.

On March 4, by way of celebration of the feast of our patron saint, Saint David, a highly successful 'Cawl Lunch' was presented by the ladies of the Mothers' Union.

Delicious cawl was served, followed by a selection of sumptuous desserts, all prepared by members of the group.

Mother's Union leader, Pat Davies, had organised and overseen this admirable event and the food and camaraderie on offer was greatly enjoyed by all of the diners.

All of the profits created at the lunch were collected and presented to the Rector on Sunday.

In the next few weeks, multi media equipment of an extremely high quality and up to the minute specification is due to be installed in Church House.

This will be available for use during a wide range of presentations and community meetings in the years ahead.

The donation of £500 was received by Rector Andrew on Sunday and Pat expressed her thanks and appreciation to all of the ladies who had worked so tirelessly at the lunch and also to the many members of the community who had supported the event.

During the lunch, a greatly loved and respected member of the church and of Mothers' Union, Mrs. Mary Penson, was presented with a magnificent 90th birthday cake, made and given by leader, Pat, in recognition of Mary's birthday on March 13.

Congratulations and best wishes were expressed to Mary at Sunday's service and during the intercessions by Ruth Webb, thanks offered to God for the life and service of this remarkable lady.

Members of the wider community may be interested to know that a range of photographs and plans relating to the proposed renovations of St. Julian's Church in Tenby harbour are on display in St. Mary's.

Those wishing to make suggestions and/or comments are invited to contribute to the comments box.

At the meeting of Tenby Arts Club tonight (Friday), the Junior Choir will be presenting a variety of musical items and they would appreciate the support of church members.

The event will be held at St Johns' Church Hall at 7.30 pm.
