Saturday was an 'ace' day in more ways than one, for not only was the weather glorious for the monthly medal, but one competitor, Neil Roach, also celebrated a hole-in-one.
In all, 87 players took part in the competition, which proved a close affair, with only a back nine countback separating the leaders in division one.
Brian Cramb eventually laid claim to the medal at the expense of Paul Heywood, while division two winner was Ralph Johns, who was just one shot better than a chasing pack of three; it was that tight.
Leading scores and prize winners were as follows:
Division One (handicaps -3 to 12, 35 competitors): Brian Cramb 69-1-68, last nine (medal and £40); Paul K. Heywood 75-7-68 (£25); Ben Price 76-4-72, last nine (£15).
Division Two (handicaps 13 to 28, 54 competitors): Ralph Johns 87-14-73 (medal and £40); Nicholas Allen 97-23-74, last nine (£25); Mark Edwards 95-21-74, last nine (£15).
Twos: Michael Anthony, Peter Brown, Jack Guerreiro, Robert Howse, Phillip Keating, Ben Price, Neil Roach - hole in one (£11.12 each).
Bag draw: G. Field-Thomas, G. Phillips, M. Gillett, V. John, P. Kidney (£17.40 each).
Handicap changes: Paul Heywood 7 to 6; Neil Thomas 8 to 7.
