Former Tenby man and past pupil of Greenhill School, 75-year-old Leslie Truman, was awarded the MBE in the New Years Honours List. Lesley, son of former rugby international Harry Truman, graduated from Swansea University, before joining the RAF. He then went on to teach in Kent, where he became headmaster of a local school. Married to Tessa, the couple have four daughters. Leslie has been chairman of registered charity, The Passage, for the last 15 years, which is a day and night shelter based in Victoria, London, that cares for the city's homeless. FOOTNOTE: Three Pembrokeshire residents also received accolades in the New Year Honours List. They were former coxswain of the St. David's Lifeboat, Malcolm Colborne Gray, who received the MBE for services to the RNLI (St. David's), and farming twins, Meurig and Mansel Raymond, who jointly farm 2,700 acres at Trenewydd Farm near Croesgoch. They were awarded MBEs in recognition of their services to Welsh agriculture.
