An annual soccer match in memory of Ollie Morgan who played locally for Tenby and Carew will take place this weekend.
The match between the Ollie Morgan XI and a Haverfordwest County Development Side, will kick off at the Bridge Meadow Stadium, on Sunday, at 1.30 pm.
Ollie was a promising centre half who unfortunately in 2007 passed away after a night out.
He was part of the Ronnie Beynon and Steve Briers Haverfordwest County McWhirter Cup winning side in 2005-06, the first year on its inception.
The young centre back was full of promise and on the radar of ex-first team manager Derek Brazil.
This year is the 10 year anniversary of Ollie’s passing, so all of his ex-team mates from the McWhirter winning side and various other local teams are coming together to make the Ollie Morgan XI super squad, who will take on Steve Batty’s current Haverfordwest County development side who will be in full ‘preseason mode’.
The entrance is free to all, however donations are welcome and all monies will be split between the Haverfordwest County academy (where Ollie played) and local sports teams of the Morgan family’s choosing.
