Saturday's Tenby Christmas Market was shaping up to be the best ever, after this year's ever-improving series of markets organised by Tenby Chamber of Trade and Tourism's Jenny Davies and Sue Roberts.

However, 70 mph winds gusting through Tudor Square defeated the best efforts of the team trying to set-up the stalls.

Allowing also for the risks to stallholders and their would-be customers, there was little choice - the market had to be cancelled.

The organisers pass on their apologies to anyone inconvenienced and can only look forward to 2014 when they hope the following of Tenby's street market continues to gather pace.
