Margaret’s Milers - a group of individuals who have formed to participate at the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, October 1, to raise funds and awareness of the charity Wales Air Ambulance, are holding a pre-event fundraiser.

Margaret’s Milers was created by Andrew Jenkins from Narberth, after the Wales Air Ambulance crew attended to his mum, Mrs. Margaret Jenkins, after she suffered a massive heart attack, at the NFU office in Narberth last December.

The WAA crew, arrived on scene within 12 minutes of being scrambled from their base in Llanelli, and along with the professionalism of first responders and paramedics, they revived Margaret Jenkins, restoring a heartbeat and pulse.

The WAA crew, then flew Margaret to Morriston Hospital, Swansea, where despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Margaret tragically passed away, later on that afternoon.

As a thank you to the professionalism and dedication of the Wales Air Ambulance, Andrew made the decision to raise some money for the charity and in early 2017, posted an invitation upon Facebook, for his family, friends and colleagues to join him, in participating in the Cardiff Half Marathon.

Ahead of the Cardiff event, a car treasure hunt and charity night will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the Narberth RAOB Club, on the Towns Moor.

The treasure hunt will gather at 4.30 pm (last car 5.30 pm) at £10 per car entry.

The charity night, featuring live music, disco and karaoke, BBQ, raffles, a charity auction featuring signed sporting memorabilia, plus many other fab prizes, will start at 7.30 pm, with free entry.

Contact Andrew on 07811 904282 for more details.
