A trio of winners from the Pembrokeshire Lottery. Already beneficiaries of assistance from the scheme - which has now helped 84 businesses within the county - W. B. Griffiths and Son Ltd., of Prendergast, Haverfordwest, have supported the scheme by holding five entries in the lottery. It was lucky number 3971 which came out of the draw on April 30. The loan assistance - given in 1997 - helped to develop the depot at Withybush which is a skip business called Griffiths Waste Solution. The business is a family one established in 1920, husband and wife team Leslie and Kathleen head the team being managing director and company secretary respectively with Peter Griffiths, their nephew, and Mark and Neil Griffiths, their sons all co-directors.

As it was the business that held the entry, the winnings will be ploughed back into the business.

Bill Hitchings performed one last task as chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council after the full council meeting on May 10, and was highly delighted to do so. Jane Bent, a Pembrokeshire County Council employee, scooped £2,000 from the Pembrokeshire Lottery with number 9304 in the draw the day before.
