London ‘twin’ for Tenby?

A local fundraiser has suggested to the town council the idea of twinning Tenby with a London borough such as Camden.

In correspondence to Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Trevor Hallett, Clare Kitchen said that she was due to speak to the Mayor of Camden with regards to the possibility of twinning the two towns.

Discussing the matter at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, members said that they would be open to the idea.

"We've not had much success in going down the route of trying to twin with a town abroad, so maybe this would be a nice idea," said Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter, with her colleague Clr. Lawrence Blackhall also interested.

"Having lived adjacent to Camden, any venture that would enable young people from that area to come to Tenby for a project must be worthwhile," he said.
