The voluntary street cleaners of Pembroke Dock were out in force last Thursday and what a brilliant turnout there was.
“We had Tesco’s, McDonald’s and the fantastic regulars who attend every month,” said town Mayor, Clr. Peter Kraus.
“Lots was done and a big area covered.”
He continued: “For the first time ever, we managed to do as far as Commercial Row. As you can see, the more we are, the larger the area we can cover, so I am still looking to have a bigger working party in October when I hope we can cover all the dockyard and other litter areas.
“Why oh why can’t people take their litter home or put it into litter bins in the area. It wouldn’t take a lot.
“I would like to have weed-free streets in our lovely town, but there are only so many hours in a day. Who knows? One day.”
And he added: “If anyone would like to volunteer their help, please contact me, Peter Kraus, on 07867765716, or 01646 685234 or keep reading the papers for the next date and just turn up. I love my town, do you?”
