The RNLI is a charity which relies on public money to support the training of and equipping volunteer crews, lifeboats and lifeboat stations, and so the Saundersfoot RNLI branch are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to the £1,972.86 collected in Lifeboat Week (July 30 - August 4). The list of contributors is as follows: Committee members' house-to-house and harbour collection £1,056.95; Amroth Castle £9.54; Coppet Hall Car Park £48.69; Old Mill Caravan Park £94.91; New Inn, Amroth £97.52; Saundersfoot Bay Leisure Park £73.29; Trevayne Farm Caravan Park £30.13; Scar Farm £39.27; Wisemans Bridge Inn £5.73; Sands Night Club £25.54; Tourist Information Centre £9.19; Harbour Stall Box £76.80. Whirligig, Amroth £114.66; Whirligig, Saundersfoot £100.79; donation Paul Luger £50; donation Ann Mitchell £10; donation Catherine Hare (re. busking) £19.10; bucket collection at lifeboat visit £110.75. Lifeboat Week stalls also raised a sum of £845. The committee are especially grateful to the Harbour Commissioners for their permission to collect on the harbour and for allowing the use of the Harbour Master's Office; and for the generosity of locals and holidaymakers in Saundersfoot, Amroth and Wisemans Bridge. Sunday, August 5, saw the Haydn Miller sail majestically into the harbour on a training session. The lifeboat showed its speed as it made its way across the bay. Thanks go to the crew for their Sunday morning visit. The souvenir stall is still on the harbour on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Christmas cards, calendars and diaries are available. There will be a coffee morning in the autumn (date and venue to be arranged) when it is hoped to see as many people as possible. The branch looks forward to your continuing support. The next committee meeting is on September 10, at 11 am, in the Sports and Social Club.
