A ‘Tales From The Tideline’ exhibition in Saundersfoot, highlighted what really washes up on our beaches, with art displays made from beach litter showing the impact of marine pollution.
The event held on Saturday, January 31, saw the Regency Hall venue transformed by a powerful and thought-provoking exhibition - brought together by Ecoast Pembrokeshire and the Saundersfoot Wombles, with fantastic support from Saundersfoot Rotary Club.
The artworks on display were created entirely from litter collected from local beaches, with everyday items reimagined into striking pieces that tell the story of marine pollution and its real impact on our coastline.

From bold, colourful mosaics to playful yet powerful sculptures, each piece sparked conversation, reflection, and inspiration.
A spokesperson for Saundersfoot Rotary Club shared: “A huge thank you to everyone involved in collecting, creating, organising, and supporting this event – and to all who came along to see how waste can be turned into art with a message.
“Together, we’re raising awareness, protecting our beaches, and showing what community action can achieve.”
One person attending said: “I was impressed, inspired and humbled by the work that had gone into this exhibition. It was fascinating to hear the journeys that some of your treasures have been on.”
Ecoast gave thanks to everyone who attend and helped arrange the event: “Thank you to everyone who visited the Regency Hall. There were some great tales from the tide line, amazing collections of beach finds, inspiring conversations, ideas sparked, plans hatched, amazing synergy - thank you all for your contributions.
“I'm feeling very inspired for the weeks and months ahead. Huge thanks to Saundersfoot Wombles for putting this event together. Finally, thank you to PAVS and South Hook LNG for your support.”

At the start of February, Saundersfoot Rotarians also joined forces once again with the brilliant Saundersfoot Wombles for a beach clean, led by Sam from Ecoast.
There was a fantastic turnout for the litter pick, with plenty of smiles, and a real difference made to the coastline.
Ecoast gave thanks to the 20 people (and six dogs!) that joined in with the morning beach clean, sharing: “Although the plan was to head out to Monkstone, the brisk onshore meant a change of plan and we headed to Main Beach and Coppet Hall.
“So much small stuff along the tideline and yet, in an hour, we managed to gather -22.45 kg, five bags plus 8.55kg of metal and a 30kg lobster pot (61kg).
“After a quick coffee a couple of us headed to Monkstone, where we managed to gather a further three bags of rubbish 30.55kg, two fish boxes 3.6kg, and two more lobster pots weighing 33.75kg.

The next Saundersfoot beach clean is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 4 10.30am.
