A switch to LED festive lighting in Tenby has saved the town council even more money than they thought.

The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told members at their meeting on Tuesday night that they had actually budgeted £1,250 for the electricity costs, when in fact the final tally was £92.

"It's nice to know that good housekeeping has been able to save us some costs," said Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett.

Meanwhile, Mr. Davies said that the council's utilities contract was due to come to an end and they had been looking at cost savings that could be achieved, with the best way to save costs seeming to be to group the De Valence Pavilion facility together with the Augustus Place Community Centre.

Mr. Davies also said that he had a firm visiting the De Valence on Monday to carry out a survey on the building's electrics and heating, and he was going to see what options were available for different ways of saving the facility money.
