St. Ishmaels II 3

Sports II 0

A late lapse from Sports away to St. Ishmaels has given them it all to do in the return leg of this Division Four Cup clash.

With the windy conditions making it hard for either team to control the game, the first half was a scrappy encounter, with an abundance of free-kicks making it a stop-start affair.

Both sides were finding it hard to hit the target, but it was the home team who made the breakthrough, when they broke away up the field and Peter Bradshaw eventually found the finish to make it 1-0 before the break.

A much-changed Saundersfoot outfit from recent league outings saw Scott Davison and Luke Trevis both go close to grabbing an equaliser with good efforts, but on too many occasions Sports failed to work the home side's 'keeper and wasted too many set-pieces.

With barely 10 minutes to play, a high ball hoisted in from a free-kick caught out Sports' 'keeper Richard Thomas and the home team doubled their lead, again through Bradshaw.

With the final whistle approaching, St. Ishmaels grabbed a third when Lyndon Clarke fired in from close range, giving them a healthy lead to take into the second leg.
