Pembrokeshire's Under 12s football team played their first game of the season against Swansea FL at the Clicketts, Tenby, last Sunday.

With under a minute played, a ball in from the right found Tom Griffith, whose first time shot from the edge of the penalty area gave Swansea an early lead.

A clever ball by Billy Vaughan found Justin Harding who went past one defender, looked up and hit the ball over the 'keeper's head for a deserved equaliser.

Swansea had a chance to go two up, but Thomas put his shot wide. A couple of minutes later, Thomas made up for his miss when a ball played in from a corner found him on the penalty spot to head the ball past Scott Greenish in the Pembs.' goal.

A shot from outside the box from Billy Vaughan deserved an equaliser, only to see it hit the post.

Pembs.' did level the scores when the talented Harding was brought down in the penalty box. Justin took the penalty himself and made no mistake from his kick.

From a free-kick, Greenish in the Pembs.' goal made a superb save to make sure the teams ended the first period all-square.

At half-time, Derek Roberts, Pembs.' coach, brought on Sam Christopher for Tim Bowen.

Eight minutes into the half, a great save from the Swansea 'keeper prevented Harding scoring his hat-trick.

Christopher had a chance to put the home side ahead for the first time in the game, only to see his shot go wide of the post.

Pembs. made another change when Durrant came on for Morgan.

Vaughan was again unlucky to see another of his shots hit the woodwork.

Swansea took the lead when a ball crossed in from the right found Williams, who turned and shot first time past Greenish in goal.

Boswell came on for Nicky Squire, hoping a fresh pair of legs would help get an equaliser.

With five minutes remaining, a free-kick awarded to Pembs. on the edge of the box was taken by Craig Robertson whose tremendous shot hit the back of the net to make it 3-3.

With just seconds remaining, a ball played over the Pembs.' defence found Thomas unmarked who had time to place the ball past the 'keeper with the last kick of the match.

All credit must go to the young players for the high standard of football they played.
