Kilgetty Begelly Community Council are seeking to obtain grant money to proceed with plans for a community/sports centre and grounds; and tenders are out to appoint a consultant to investigate the feasibility of the project. This news was revealed at the January meeting of the council, when it was also pointed out that a web-site had been set up, http://www.kilgettycommcouncil.uk.com">www.kilgettycommcouncil.uk.com, and they would welcome suggestions as to the facilities residents would like to have in the centre. An e-mail address for suggestions is available by going onto the web page. The council has written to the relevant department at County Hall to arrange the re-siting of the bench that had found itself on the wrong side of the fence. Ryelands Lane road and pavement modifications were expected to be complete by February 3. The precept for 2006/2007 has been set at £18,500. Double yellow lines have been requested on the Ryelands Lane side of Carmarthen Road. The council has written to County Hall to request that Begelly playground be brought up to standard; the large gate be unlocked to allow parents with pushchairs to enter; and to cut back the brambles that have taken over.
