The following issues were discussed at the last meeting of Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council:
Kingsmoor Common: Progress is slow. The council is waiting to hear from County Hall regarding the signing of contracts.
Housing Strategy - lack of safe play areas: A letter has been sent expressing concerns regarding the lack of play facilities and that the problem will continue until County Hall adopts a more positive approach towards this issue.
It is a concern of the community council that there are no play facilities in Kilgetty, and therefore they propose a public meeting to discuss this issue. They would welcome all interested parties and that includes the 'young people' of the community.
Would you please ring or write to Mrs. Janet Ward, clerk, Kilgetty Begelly Community Council, Council Office, Carmarthen Road, Kilgetty, or telephone (01834) 814435. If there is enough interest, a suitable date for the meeting can be arranged.
Kilgetty/Stepaside junction: Work is to commence on March 1 and expected completion date is August 22. The community council has written to County Hall and the Welsh Assembly Government regarding the untimely date of this work and the possible financial 'knock-on' effect it could have in the county.
The Community Association has advised that the carnival weekend will be Saturday and Sunday, August 7 and 8.
