AFTER a huge success in 2006, the British Red Cross are presenting another great triple bill performance with some of the best blues bands in Wales - The Numbers Racket featuring The West Coast Horns and Pat Grover's Blue Zeros supported this year by the Mardi Jug Band - Wales' premier jug band. Indeed it will be a rare treat not to be missed, and it's all happening at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, on Saturday, March 24. Sue Reece, British Red Cross fund-raiser, said: "It's really incredible that these top bands have come together to support the Red Cross. The evening promises to be a great night out as well as a great opportunity to raise much-needed funds for such a worthwhile cause. The money will enable us to continue providing our vital services in South West Wales." The Numbers Racket are a high-energy swing and jump-jive six-piece. Their live set is a great combination of energy, melody and full-on goodtime music showmanship. Their fantastic, versatile horn section has impressed audiences all over Europe. The Blue Zeros play undiluted blues, drawing on the best American traditions with a refreshing subtlety and a rare sense of dynamics led by Pat Grover, an important contributor to the British Blues scene since the late 1960s. The Mardi Jug Band perform songs by the likes of Furry Lewis, Gus Gannon and Sleepy John Estes. Sponsored by Chevron Ltd, doors open at 8 pm and tickets are priced £10 For more information tel. 01267 239902 or 07793882903 [email protected]">[email protected].
