Tenby's Jubilee Celebration Exemption Dog Show, held at Tenby Leisure Centre on Sunday, has been hailed as a great success this week.

With classes for both pedigree dogs and cross-breeds, as well as a special children's section, and judged by Su Thomas, of Carmarthen, the dog show attracted over 50 entrants from all over south west Wales, with all proceeds going to Tenby Animal Rescue Centre.

"It was a very successful day," class secretary Mrs. Maureen Ward told the Observer this week.

"It was the first time we have held an exemption dog show at the Leisure Centre and it proved to be an ideal venue.

"Although there was a relatively poor turnout of local dogs, the show attracted over 50 entrants from as far afield as Llanelli, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest, and there really were some beautiful dogs on show.

"It really was a great day and hopefully we'll be able to arrange something similar again in the future."
