As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), Tenby’s triathlete star Oliver Simon was still unsure whether he would would be racing in Sunday’s Ironman Wales.
The 36-year-old said: “I have had a setback after hurting my foot last weekend, so I don’t think I will be starting Ironman Wales. I am resting it, but it doesn’t look good at the moment. I had to pull out of a race on Sunday as I can’t run.”
Olly added: “It promises to be a great atmosphere if the weather plays ball. I am helping lots of first time competitors get over last minute swim nerves. Good luck to everyone competing, roll with whatever the day brings and you will cross that line.”
