Enhancement works at Haven Court in Monkton have been welcomed by the local county councillor as 'making a real difference to tenants' lives'.
Newly-laid gardens, patio areas, and new walls and fences have been provided in most individual properties, while shared outdoor spaces have benefited from new paving and overgrown footpaths and circulation areas have been cleared and relaid.
The works are the fifth phase of an ongoing £6 million-plus Estate Improvements Scheme, funded and carried out by Pembrokeshire County Council, to meet Welsh Housing Quality Standards.
The next phase of the scheme, which has been in progress over the past five years, will be starting in April.
County Councillor for Monkton, Clr. Pearl Llewellyn, said: "I'm delighted that the county council has invested in Monkton. These works have made a big difference and I welcome the new phase starting next month."
The sixth phase aims to complete all works at Haven Court and Longmains, and carry out any repair or remedial ground works required throughout the estates.
In addition, kitchens are currently being surveyed in order to plan any further refurbishments from April onwards - approximately 50 per cent have been replaced in the last five years.
In the last 10 years, all properties have been rewired and timber doors have been replaced with Upvc doors or screens.
The majority of properties have also had their heating upgraded from solid fuel to a gas central heating system and all properties, where possible, have had cavity wall insulation and roof insulation fitted. This is intended to help reduce heat loss and increase thermal efficiency and reduce subsequent heating costs.
Clr. Llewellyn said she was also pleased that some works were currently being carried out to improve paths and walls at South Terrace.
