On Wednesday (March 4) at 7.30 pm, Michael Freeman will be giving a talk on the ‘History of Welsh Costume’ at Narberth Museum.
Michael, a former curator at Ceredigion Museum and an honorary research fellow at the National Museum Wales will be sorting the myths from the truths and examining the origins of those distinctive hats! he now runs a website dedicated to their history and cultural significance.
The photo shows two of the Welsh hats in Narberth Museum’s collection as worn by the Evans sisters, ancestors of pioneering electronic engineer, Stanley Lewis.
They walked from Narberth to tenby Market every week to sell dairy produce.
Tickets for the talk cost £5 and refreshments will be available from our coffee shop.
