The Rotary Club of Tenby held its 2016 Young Musician competition at St. Johns Church, Tenby, recently. The competition is open to pupils of the Tenby Group of Schools who have achieved at least Grade 2 ABRSM.

Owing to other commitments and illness, only five competitors eventually took part, but they maintained the standard of previous years and entertained a large audience. The pupils represented St. Florence School, Manorbier School, Tenby Community School and St. Teilo’s Catholic School.

During the discussions of the adjudicators, the audience were entertained by the Sageston School Choir, who performed a wide and interesting repertoire.

The adjudicators, Mrs. Samantha Hughes and Rtn. Tom Cullen, commended the players on their performances and offered advice to help them with future performances.

The winner was pianist Elizabeth Morgan, a Year 4 pupil at St. Teilo’s School.

Once again, thanks go to the officers of St. Johns Church for the use of their excellent facilities.
