On Sunday evening, the first advent candle was lit and songs included 'Prepare the way of the Lord' and 'O Come O Come Emmanuel.'
Continuing his series on biblical characters who said the words, 'I have sinned,' the pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, talked about King David, who added to his adultery with Bathsheba the crime of sending one of his loyal friends on a suicide mission in a deliberate attempt to escape the consequences of his own sin.
"David had been deceived by Satan's lies and gave in to his sexual impulses. Sin always deceives. Sin always destroys, and what destruction we have seen! Sin is always discovered - but confessed sin is always forgiven."
There will be no service at the Avenue Centre this coming Sunday.
