Local residents in Tenby have the chance to find Sainsbury's a new local charity to support. It's the fifth year of the retailer's 'Local Charity partner' initiative, which gives local registered charities the chance to receive a year's worth of fundraising and awareness support from store colleagues.
Customers and colleagues at Sainsbury's Tenby have played a big part in the success of the Local Charity partner initiative. Last year, their generous donations helped to raise £2,578 for Paul Sartori. Among the highlights of the partnership, which closed in May, were a very successful bag packing morning, several raffles and cake sales, along with Lorraine completing the very wet and cold Boxing Day Swim last year.
Sandra Dade, Paul Sartori Foundation charity manager, said: "Working with Sainsbury's Tenby over the last 12 months has made such a difference to our cause. They have raised a fantastic amount which we're using towards providing hands-on palliative care in the homes of patients living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, to enable them to die at home, pain free, with the dignity they deserve and surrounded by those they love, if that is their choice, and we're now looking forward to working with them on future opportunities."
There's even more ways to vote this year. Alongside nomination forms and a drop-in box available in-store, for the first time, customers can nominate online, either via downloading a voting form from Sainsbury's website http://www.sainsbury.co.uk/localcharity">www.sainsbury.co.uk/localcharity or emailing their nomination to [email protected]">[email protected]
Sainsbury's Tenby store manager Michelle Jenkins and PR ambassador Lorraine Jones added: " Our work with previous Local Charity partners over the years has been really successful in letting our customers have their say. We hope our customers can take the time to vote in the coming weeks and give a local charity that's close to their hearts the chance for us to support them."
The winning charity will be announced in June.
