THERE are lots of healthcare professionals who can advise, support and treat you in your GP surgery such as nurse practitioners.

Nurse practitioners have been part of the team in Tenby Surgery for the past 15 years.

Nurse practitioners Simone Knight and Liz Carter, work alongside the doctors in the surgery and can diagnose, treat and evaluate acute and chronic illness and disease and prescribe medication.

They can also refer patients for further investigations and treatments, as well as monitor disease management.

The role complements general practice and is part of the multi-disciplinary skill mix within modern healthcare today.
