Pembrokeshire Fish Week, now in its seventh year, is a feast for the family, foodie and angler alike. From tomorrow (Saturday) to July 2, families and children can enjoy island walks, boat trips, and all sorts of beach fun - including a snorkel safari and rock pool rambles. Food-lovers and those who love to cook are well catered for, with dozens of mouth-watering events to choose from. Local restaurants, cafes, pubs, and delis will be featuring delicious fish and seafood dishes throughout the week. There's also several workshops and demonstrations - including a Fish and Shellfish Masterclass by celebrity chef John Torode from the BBC's Masterchef goes Large at the Torch Theatre on Wednesday, June 28. Anglers can enjoy a host of fishing events, including fishing days designed especially for juniors and the disabled. There are also several learn-to-fish days at fisheries all over the county, an Open Sea Angling Competition on the Milford Haven Waterway, and an all-week Open Coarse Fishing Championship at Holgan Farm, Llawhaden. This year, Fish Week coincides with the Seafair Haven festival and a visit from the Irish emigrant ship Dunbrody. Seafair Haven welcomes classic and traditional craft from the UK, France and Ireland to the Milford Haven Waterway to help celebrate the maritime heritage of Pembrokeshire. The Dunbrody, a 176-foot three-masted barque, will be alongside at Milford Dock from tomorrow (Saturday) to Tuesday, with day voyages around the Pembrokeshire coast later in week. Pembrokeshire Fish Week is organised by Pembrokeshire County Council and supported by Objective 1 and the Welsh Assembly Government.
