Sir,

Penally Village Hall Committee tries to arrange functions that villagers and visitors will find enjoyable and which might turn into regular events. With this in mind, a Whist Drive has been arranged for this Friday, October 30, at 7 pm. Mrs. Pauline Barnikel has volunteered to run this first one, but the committee is hoping to find someone to organise further whist evenings.

The village hall needs to be in constant use to cover its running costs. We already have bridge, short mat bowling, gentle exercise, karate and a carol choir as weekly clubs, all of which would welcome new members. Now we'd like to add a whist club, but that will depend on the support shown on Friday.

The idea behind all events is to have fun, so even if you haven't played for years, learning the rules will take just minutes.

Penally Village Hall.
