Undoubtedly one of the awesome young stars of Ironkids on Saturday was six-year-old Élan Williams.
Élan, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, touched the hearts of the town of Tenby when she courageously took part in the popular event. She and her family are from Denbighshire and are huge triathlon addicts.
Élan and her elder brother Caio, 13, took part in Ironkids, while dad Dion successfully completed Ironman itself in a time of 16 hours 14 minutes.
Said mum Ceris: “Élan is one gutsy little girl and is so precious to us. No fool though and will take life on to the max!”
Élan is also a keen horse rider and qualified for the RDA national championships this year for the first time and gained a fourth place rosette. And what’s even more heroic about Élan’s story is that she ran Ironkids for her local RDA centre and so far has collected over £1,200!
