STUDENTS from Tenby's Greenhill School were among those who had the chance to find out what life is like in the Royal Navy - when they were guests on HMS Cumberland this week.
The ship berthed at Kings Dock, Swansea, on Saturday, marking the beginning of five days of recruitment and goodwill events, including visits on board by school children and sea cadets.
The children were given tours of the ship to raise awareness of the range of careers in the Royal Navy, with the Greenhil contingent being accompanied by teacher Mr. Robert Herrick.
A careers forum also took place on board HMS Cumberland. The aim of the forum was to bring together teachers and careers advisors from schools and colleges to share careers information and ideas with Royal Navy recruitment officers.
HMS Cumberland was commissioned in 1988 and has a complement of 259. It is a Type 22 frigate designed for the anti-submarine role.
