A local bird rescue centre received a boost this week when they were presented with a donation from Tenby's Kiln Park which recently held a 'Big Green Weekend' as part of the Haven Park scheme to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote greener activities.
"It was a tremendous fun weekend, which was well supported with lots of local businesses and organisations taking part and plenty of green themed activities such as nature walks, beach cleaning, face painting and a sports gala, green fancy dress and an eco-treasure hunt for everyone to enjoy," explained Donna Bradley, of the holiday centre's 'owners exclusive'.
The weekend at the holiday park which holds a gold David Bellamy Conservation Award, in recognition of its environmentally friendly policies for recycling, minimising utilities, working with local communities and promoting a greener way of holidaying, helped to raise over £300 for Kiln Park's chosen charity the Tinker's Hill Bird of Prey and Swan Rescue Centre in Amroth.
The weekend was also a showcase for several local organisations, with thanks going to the Wildlife Trust, Silent World, Keep Wales Tidy, RSPB, Pendeilo Jewels, Lily-Licious Cakes, along with Anna Ryder Richardson, of Manor House, and many other businesses that took part.
