Sir, On Saturday, December 23, 2006, I arrived at Birmingham Airport to board a flight to France. As Heathrow, Bristol and Cardiff were closed, owing to bad weather, Birmingham Airport was almost 'bursting at the seams'. I was supposed to be met by a steward with a wheel- chair, as I am 86 years old and have difficulty walking and owing to a stroke a year ago which damaged the optic nerve, everything I look at is cut in half. However, my taxi driver found a wheelchair, but no one to push it, until this lovely person, who is French and whose name is Natalie and lives in Saundersfoot, came along. She and her family came to my rescue and pushed the wheelchair and saw me onto the plane. I would like to give them my grateful thanks for this help and support. My late husband was in the army and in 1945 was stationed at Manorbier and we rented a cottage in St. Florence prior to moving to Saundersfoot. Our son was born in Tenby Cottage Hospital on February 23, 1947. I have very fond memories of Pembrokeshire. I hope Natalie reads this, or rather I hope you will find a little space to print it.
Freda Randle, Presteigne, Powys.
