A surprise farewell was held to say goodbye and thanks to Linda McNabb who was the volunteer supervisor at Sartori Nostalgia in Tenby. Attending were volunteers Linda had worked with for several years, and staff and trustees from the Paul Sartori Foundation.
Linda, one of many volunteers for the foundation, has been volunteer supervisor for Tenby Nostalgia since 2012.
“Nostalgia is a vintage and retro brand from the group of Sartori Stores and Linda very kindly agreed to help us out and assist in running the store back in July of 2012. Linda has been with the Foundation for many years - she commenced volunteering in Fishguard and then went to Letterston, so she brought a wealth of experience,” said Tim Davies, head of retail.
“I was asked to help out in Fishguard, and the rest is history,” stated Linda.
Linda and her husband will continue to help the Foundation with the PAT testing of electrical items. Linda is looking forward to the tennis season this year and spending more time and working on their new home.
Volunteers are a crucial element and a vital support network to the Paul Sartori Foundation. Retail volunteers help in 11 stores throughout Pembrokeshire and help to generate significant funds for the charity.
Phil Thompson, trustee of the Paul Sartori Foundation, thanked Linda for all her help in assisting at Fishguard, Letterston and latterly Tenby, adding: “Linda will be missed by everyone at Tenby. We wish her well and a happy retirement.”
Linda is a retired civil servant and has an interest in motor racing and classic cars. She has previously volunteered at a hospice shop in London and was keen to help the Paul Sartori Foundation to give a little time for all the help and support the Foundation have given.
The services provided by the Paul Sartori Foundation are free of charge, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and enable people who are living in the later stages of life to die at home if that is their wish.
