There was plenty of glitz at Tenby's Greenhill School on Friday night when a glamorous end of year prom, hosted by last year's Big Brother contestant Vanessa and finalist of the Radio 1 DJ of the year competition, DJ Joey M, was staged thanks to bliss magazine and the NSPCC. As reported in last week's Observer, 13-year-old Emily Jenkins, of Begelly, won the prom after she was nominated by her best friend, Ruth Collier, also 13, of St. Florence, for supporting her when she was going through a really tough time in the competition run by the teen magazine. Emily was rewarded for being such a good mate by being taken in a limo to the party with all her friends. At the school, a red carpet, flaming torches and an archway of roses were outside the doors of the hall, while inside - as well as disco music and party food - were treats, including a candy floss machine, boys' area with games machine and football table, and a girls' chill-out zone with free make-up. The highlight for Emily was when she was crowned Prom Queen amid smoke and bubbles. And all the 200 students at the prom were given a keepsake - a goodie bag to take home, courtesy of bliss.
