Two wheelie rubbish bins situated in a popular Tenby garden were described as 'horrendous' this week.

Clr. Mrs. Kerri Durham believes that the two refuse bins located in the gardens at Paxtons Walk overlooking the harbour would put anyone off sitting there.

"They used to be hidden by a hedge, but since that has been cut down, they are totally exposed and look unsightly standing there," she said of the bins, which are owned by a nearby restaurant.

"The gardens are lovely, but are spoilt by these horrendous bins, and if I was a visitor I certainly wouldn't want to sit there," added Clr. Mrs. Durham, who asked if something could be done before the start of the summer season rather than the end of it.

The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, pointed out that former town councillor Mickey Folland had spoken to the previous owners of the restaurant to move the bins into the gardens as they were previously situated on the pavement.

However, as the gardens were now the responsibility of the county council, Mr. Davies said that he would contact them over the matter to see if they could come up with a suitable solution with the restaurant owners.
