Congratulations are extended to talented young musician Elizabeth Morgan, of Tenby, who recently passed her grade 8 piano examination with distinction.
A pupil at Greenhill School, Elizabeth, who only celebrated her 14th birthday a fortnight ago, achieved her success with an exceptional mark of 98 per cent.
Already well known locally for her skills on the keyboard, Elizabeth has a number of other achievements under her belt.
At the 2018 Valero Pembrokeshire Secondary Schools Music Festival, she was adjudicated as the open piano winner, also the overall festival winner (all instruments and voice). At the time she was aged just 11, and after only three months at high school, this was an unprecedented achievement.
But even before that, she was showing her prodigious talent, as she was also adjudicated open piano winner and overall festival winner at the 2015 Valero Pembrokeshire Primary Schools Music Festival. Again, at the tender age of eight, she was the youngest ever winner in the history of that festival.
Indeed, Elizabeth has since won many awards in various piano festivals and recitals, including the Mid Somerset Festival, Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, Fishguard International Music Festival, AFYM, and others.
Her ambition is to become an architect with music as an additional subject.
She started learning piano at age five with Royal College of Music graduate, Jan Hartzell from Saundersfoot.
