Well-known adventurer Rosie Swale Pope recently set out on her latest adventure, running from Paris to Rome.

She is pulling her trusty home on wheels, Icebird, and heading to the Italian capital with the aim of taking part in the Rome Marathon on March 16.

Rosie set off from the head office of Unilever France for the two-month run in aid of cancer research last Monday.

Six employees, members of the Unilever internal running team, ran with her to the Eiffel Tower (pictured).

However, only days into the journey, Rosie suffered an unexpected drama.

She slipped and injured some ligaments in her knee and had to go to hospital where she had x-rays.

Medics ruled out any serious injury, but gave her crutches to help her and she is now bravely carrying on at a very slow pace.

"Despite this setback, Rosie seems more energised than ever and determined to keep on going, walking 10km/day," an email to family and friends said this week.
