Many friends from local churches and community organisations gathered at St. John’s Church, Pembroke Dock, on Friday, for the launch of a book of poems written by well remembered Chrystal Collins, who lived and worked in the town for over 50 years.
Entitled ‘Mrs C - An Anthology Of Poems’ - the book contains nearly 40 poems written by Mrs. Collins, who was known to so many as ‘Mrs C’.
She died 10 years ago and her daughter, Christine Evans, and family published the book in her memory, with all profits to Christian Aid, which Mrs. Collins worked tirelessly for.
A service at St. John’s Church was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. Nicky Skipworth, who dedicated the book. Bible readings and some of the poems were read by Joan Lathe, Pat Jones, Ann Powell, Maureen Colgan and Doug Aubrey, as well as by Christine Evans and her husband John.
Copies of the book, priced at £7.95, are available at the Book Room, St. Govan Centre, Pembroke Dock, and Debbie Willcocks Floral Design, 132 Main Street, Pembroke, as well as at Tenby Bookshop and Victoria Bookshop, Haverfordwest. It is also available direct from Christine Evans on 01437 751233.
