A Tenby councillor has expressed his delight at seeing part of the footpath alongside the site of the former Gatehouse Hotel, finally re-opened.

"It's very pleasing to see the pavement re-opened, but why on earth did it take so long, it's the same as before, but with a few blobs of concrete on top," Clr. Mike Thorne told his colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.

Clr. Mike Evans pointed out that it had been the responsibility of the owner of the site and was to have been re-opened by the end of July, but was happy that it was finally open again.

The town clerk told members that the owner and developers had new plans ready for a scheme for the site which they were planning to present to the council.
