SAUNDERSFOOT Footlights are to celebrate their 25 years of productions, beginning with 'Oliver' in 1977, with a 2002 presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's brilliant musical, 'South Pacific'.
This always popular show will be staged in Saundersfoot's Regency Hall in late May and early June. 'South Pacific' has several good principal roles and many on-stage singing, dancing and dialogue opportunities for the 'sailors' and 'navy nurses' that form a major part of the cast.
Auditions will be held in the Community Education Centre, The Ridgeway, Saundersfoot, at 7.30 pm on Friday, January 18, and at 2 pm on Saturday, January 19. The show's director, David Owen, has stressed that all roles are open for audition, and he and the Footlights extend a warm invitation - to anyone interested in taking part in 'South Pacific' or willing to help back-stage - to go along to one or both of the auditions.
