The Welsh Deputy Minister for Poverty, Vaughan Gething, paid a visit to Pembrokeshire last week to see Welsh Government programmes in action and meet parents benefiting from them.
The AM for Cardiff South and Penarth visited the Flying Start Centre in Pennar, Pembroke Dock, to meet parents attending a play session with their children.
Funded by the Welsh Government, the Flying Start programme helps families with children under four. Last year, over 600 children and their families in Pembrokeshire benefitted from the service.
Mr. Gething was shown around the centre by cabinet member, Clr. Simon Hancock, director of children and schools, Jake Morgan and Clare Cox, early prevention and support manager.
Afterwards, Mr. Gething took a trip out to Freshwater West beach where he joined a Team Around the Families Day Out. The Team Around The Family programme is funded by Welsh Government under its Families First Initiative.
